Captain Rich from Black Rose Fishing Charters told me it is tuna season now. The crisp nights have the tuna in feeding mode. Without a commercial fishery right now, catch and release giant fishing is a great option as is the run and gun fishery. Fewer boats translate to less pressure and better fishing. Shark fishing still remains a great add-on option while ground fishing for cod and haddock.

Captain Rich from Black Rose Fishing Charters told me fall fishing means “freezer” fishing for cod and haddock. The fall action for haddock should be picking up this month. The addition of one keeper cod per angler definitely is a big bonus. While catching haddock, plan B is often either shark fishing or tuna fishing. Captain Rich always has “alternate” rods deployed for either tuna or sharks. The tuna season has been excellent. He can fish for school to medium sized tuna or target and catch the big ones. Shark fishing has been fantastic and should continue through the month of September
